Alright, so after the seeming collapse of the ACC, and the coastal division especially. What are ya'lls thoughts of our chances, as well as thoughts from anyone about the game at BC this weekend. I feel like it will help us gauge how good our offense really is right now going against one of the best rushing defenses in the country. I also think we might have a legit shot at going to Tampa this year, esp if we come out 3-0 after at BC and at VT.

Title says it. I'm fan of the blue jerseys w/ the white helmets and white pants that compliment the stripe on the helmet. i also like the all whites, as well the gold pants and helmet w/ white jersey. Let's hear what ya'll like, not complaining allowed, please, i'm sick of hearing all that crap.

Creative ways to inspire GT students

I know we've all seen it or heard about it, and ESPN even did a nice article about it when VT played us on a Thursday night, but what can be done to encourage more GT students to develop or grow an interest in GT athletics? Should we be looking to the AA to reach out more? Or look inwards to the fan base as a whole to take that step?

I really want to know how others feel they can convert the uninspired to attend some games- and not just football. I know winning will help, and there's ...

CPJ doesn't get too fancy, DL 'blows up' Perriloux (he asks to speak to his mommy after the game), but we have too many mistakes to make this a bonifide blowout.... 27-10

Battle of two good D's, BC's has more overall experience but the primary difference in this game is.....one turnover for a BC score.....but our young offensive talent is better than BC offensive talent, and despite the turnover, CPJ and team take their first big step....... 21-17

Thursday Practice Report 8/14/08

Thanks to popular demand and a special request by The Machine, I will now start posting my practice reports here.

Today started off nice and overcast, but by the half way point through practice, the temperature started to rise. Boy, the sun was hot.

1. Full pads and helmets, Earls, Watson, Gardner, and Nesbitt still out, it does look extremely likely though that Nesbitt and Gardner will return to practice here in the next day or two, no new injuries to report.

Been a busy few months with trips overseas and working at a summer camp with limited internet access but I am back.

Sounds like what I expected, good and bad. No word on how the LBs are doing, may not have to do much behind that line.

I think the secondary will surprise playing better technique. Tenuta had them backpedaling so long they couldn't turn and run so well. The goal was for the pressure to force a bad throw and presumably a pick.

The D-Line will dominate, absolutely dominate. ...

This question won't actually be answered until we get into the season, but maybe some hints will arise earlier. Basically, I want to know how half-time strategy and speaches are similar or different from previous years and then now under CPJ. I know we were criticized a few times by announcers for failing to adjust properly or being "out coached" in the 2nd half as teams adjusted to us, and I saw what I thought was the same thing myself. I know I'm not a football coach, but sometimes ...

They have some recuiting videos on the TV (AKA Jack Links Beef Jerky), man they tore some poor guys arms off, sank a boat with a big rock, and flipped a golf cart with a tackle. Imagine what they could do to those Damn Dirty Dogs.

Closed Practices

Rumors are swirling about practices being closed in the near future. Will we still have reporters (a.k.a. Machine and 33) roaming the sidelines? I'm all for closing the practices to preserve any surprise advantage we'll have this year, but I can't wait two weeks without having good information!

EDIT: RamblinWreck.com still shows practice open to public "until further notice" so this is still just a rumor as of yet.

So, read today that Mario Edwards was cleared by the NCAA to be able to forego his transfer sit year, not gonna jump to any conclusions but if the ACC clears him...how do ya'll think that helps out w/ our secondary? Wanna hear some of ya'll's thoughts. I think it will help add some depth, to the least to our secondary, as well as maybe have a great athlete and hopefully a great player in the secondary.

I'm so excited about Tech Spring football practice, I've almost forgotten to pay attention . But once the Spring Game is over, it's time for the Fastest Game on Two Feet.

Looking at the NCAA D-1 lacrosse rankings, the ACC has four of the top six ranked teams in the country! Why is Tech missing the party? We've had some success playing club LAX in the SELC, but until we take the next step, we're still in the minor leagues.

Watched the Skins game last night, and Brooks looked really good for his first pro game. He had 4 solid punts, 2 of which were downed inside the 20 - one on the 7 yard line! His very first punt was a whisker from getting downed inside the 5, but the coverage team just couldn't quite keep it out of the end zone.

The official stat line is 4 punts with a 46y average (I assume that's gross yardage, and not net), with 2 inside the 20. A very nice average, considering that 2 of his punts he was ...

I wasn't able to listen live, but I listened to the recorded show at work this morning. Between the insider/player perspective from Machine, and the stellar analysis that 33 Jacket brings, you guys are becoming the best source for GT Football analysis anywhere.

I thrive on the the detailed analysis, and 33J clearly understands what he's seeing on the field. The show was great, and gave exactly the type of information that fanatical fans want to hear.

This position seems to be more impactful in this offense than in other offenses. IF Josh has the descision making ability, his awesome talent plus CPJ's coaching will drive improvement. Just wanted to give you guys more props - the new website looks awesome. Very cool navigation.

Only one pet peeve, and maybe it's just me, but GT's colors are gold, white, and navy, whereas the website's/forum's colors make it seem like they are gold and black. It's probably just me though, because it actually does look good.

I check this board everyday, and nothing....I love this board and the show, you guys are the only mods around who's egos don't blind them from the facts and do the proverbial job of "keeping it real". You just got to find a way to direct more traffic through this site.

Maybe you could get Ryan Stewart or some other GT grad to bump you on a national platform. That would be great.

Tech his holding its biggest camp of the summer for rising JR's and Sr's. Would like to get several kids on board after this camp. M,any big names will be there plus currents verbals.
